Have you ever wanted to learn how to quilt? Want to know how to get started but not sure how to begin. This class series is designed to get you started and teach you the fundamentals of quilting. Through these classes we will become familiar with the essential types of threads, fabrics and tools that are best for various styles of piecing and quilting. We will delve into multiple types of piecing including: Ohio stars, flying geese, log cabins, paper piecing, template piecing, yo-yo’s, prairie points and much more. Learn how to put together those quilt blocks or finish your quilt tops with our classes about sashings, borders and bias binding. Additionally, we will learn about differing styles of machine quilting i.e., straight line quilting, stitch in the ditch quilting, free motion, stencil usage, stippling etc. These classes are designed to teach you how to piece and quilt with our own machine. Each single session is designed on its own to be advantageous and effective. So, join us for one class or sign up for them all. Discover the joy and satisfaction of creating your very own quilt projects.
The first class will cover threads, fabrics and tools of the trade through the construction of a pieced and quilted sewing machine cover. Please call Wyoming Sewing Center (307)234-4581 or email the Instructor at hnw@vcn.com(307) 258-5342 to sign up and receive your supply list.
